Sunshine!

Hi folks

Thought I'd let you know that I had a great time demo-ing at the Trade Show for WOW Embossing Powders - I always do! Got to play with Ultra High for three days (UTEE) trying out different techniques and generally having a great craftathon! I was sat directly opposite Sheena Douglass' stand and as she did my Creative Expressions training a few years ago it was lovely to catch up. Also saw a few other old friends and made some new ones!

Anyhow, as the sun is shining outside and I'm busy making samples for my DO Crafts demo's I thought I'd post a picture of a card I made a while ago using the Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies from Creative Expressions:

I used papers from My Minds Eye and First Edition and coloured the daffodils with Distress Inks. Quite sunny, I think!

Well, must be off, sample making calls.

WOW DT Project

Hi there

Just a quick post to let you know that it's my project on the WOW Powders Blog today.

I made a Mother's Day Basket out of paper flowers, embossed leaves and butterflies. Our brief for this month was to use the flourescent colours and this is my take on the theme. See what you think:

Pop on over to the WOW Blog and take a look if you have time  - you could also check out the great projects by the other DT members.

Journal for Oliver

Hi Bloggers

Just had to share with you what I've been up to. My middle son asked me to make him some kind of a journal that he could add pages to as and when he felt like it. I had a Basics board book lying around and he asked me to decorate each page with things that he liked in a grungy kind of a style (definately his thing).
See what you think:
Grungeboard hinges and strap with WOW Copper embossing powder and a bit of Tim Holtz
 Idea-ology.
Old book pages, gesso-ed with some altered cardboard gears & sprockets.
Stamped images from the Portabello Road collection by DO Crafts.
This is HUNK - a Stampotique image that Oliver loves (and spiders that he hates). I crackled this background with glue and acrylic paint.
Hearts made with a mould and WOW Ultra High EP. Blue page is sky blue acrylic paint with dark blue paint dabbed on using a plastic bag. I stamped the grid image onto white tissue paper and adhered with Matt Medium. Then some Steampunk was the order of the day on this, and the following page:
Below are a few close ups - sorry if boredom is setting in but I loved creating this:
Whew! Loads of grunge - not to everyones taste, but this totally embodies my middle baby. (He'll kill me for calling him that - 15 this year!).

Thanks for stopping by.
